Ok, now that that's out of the way, you probably know what's Patreon, right?
Simply put, it's where you donate to artists/developers/crazy people to fund, sponsor, thank or help them by simply donating to their cause and helping them not go bankrupt.
Some artists release content for Patreon backers earlier, in better quality or only for patreon backers. I WILL NEVER DO THAT.
I have no problem with people doing that - I understand them. I think it's necessary if you are an artist. TG fiction is time consuming and for most it's a job... But for me, it's more of a hobby or a "side job".
But every year life gets more expensive... And hardware does too! I need to dedicate a special part of me and my time and your help is, as always, more than welcome and appreciated.
So yes, it has happened, finally I opened my Patreon account.

ReplyDeleteI finally find a way to cash the money in this country's backwards bank and global monetary system. Sadly it did not happen a year ago, when CoC was at its peak!
DeleteYeah well.. we can feel the end of CoC coming. The sexiest parts (and assumably the most popular ones) of a comic are always the ones where the changes are big and sexy and now we're at the spot where it's either weird changes (which I like as well) or just sex acts and humiliation (which is not really my thing). That's why I had proposed the idea of finding some bottle that would reverse several changes a while back so that the new changes coming would be big and sexy again. But now that you gave her Bimbo Liquer that would be the saddest thing ever. So I can see CoC not being at its peak anymore, however I still enjoy it a lot.
DeleteThere's always Jinkxed 2 that can be a total patreon bomb ;) I know you said you'd stop making stuff after that, but I don't really believe you.
In general, while I like your idea to have all content free, I'd still like to be able to have some work in progress posts or something on Patreon. Or polls where you get to know what your Patreons like about your content. Just being able to influence your decision making a little bit more is worth the same amount of money as it would be to get early access to comics (as others on Patreon do it).
Of course the core part of the transformations has passed - that said, I have a couple of surprises and resources to play with. Little "reset" buttons if you want.
DeleteJinkxed 2 will be my retirement comic. No doubt about it in my mind. It'll require lots of effort, CoC levels maybe.

I am more surprised you haven't made a patreon tip jar as least so far , the comics you're making are better than plenty of the paid ones
ReplyDeleteSadly, the country I've been living for the past few years has a backwards, crazy, medieval policy regarding international money transactions and it was impossible to cash out profits. Now I found a way around it!

Yes, I did. I helped out with a little contribution for character portaits and a couple of extras for a mod for Baldur's Gate II, specifically for a character names Sheena. I don't know at what state of development it is right now.
